Welcome to our podcast sessions dedicated to exploring the Taoist healing arts, including Chi Kung, Meditation, Tai Chi, and Bagua Zhang. We aim to provide a broad educational experience encompassing philosophy, history, and practical skills in these Taoist practices.

We are excited to have Dr. Andrew Jan as one of two hosts, a dedicated practitioner of these arts and a respected medical doctor. As a medical professional, Dr. Jan is committed to upholding the ethical standards of his profession while sharing his expertise and insights with our listeners.

Meditation, Tai Chi, and Chi Kung are increasingly supported by scientific evidence, highlighting their potential as 'adjunctive approaches' for addressing conditions such as pain, anxiety, depression, and overall quality of life. However, the benefits of these modalities will vary from person to person. These modalities offer the added advantage of having a low-risk profile. While we endeavour to be mindful and cautionary in teaching and sharing our knowledge and skills, adverse effects still rarely occur and may include physical discomfort (including aggravation of pre-existing conditions) or psychological responses.

It's essential to recognize that the content of our podcast sessions is designed to provide general knowledge and information. Given the diverse nature of our listeners, we cannot tailor our discussions to individual circumstances. Therefore, considering their unique needs and conditions, we encourage all listeners to seek personalized health advice from their chosen registered medical practitioners or other allied health professionals. It is recommended to discuss any topics of interest covered in the podcast with these professionals.

Again, we must emphasize that this podcast is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or other professional allied healthcare services. It does not involve the practice of medicine or the provision of medical advice. No doctor-patient or counsellor-client relationship is established through this podcast. If listeners choose to incorporate information from our podcast or linked materials into their lives without consulting their healthcare professionals, they do so at their own risk. We strongly advise against disregarding or delaying recommendations from your chosen registered medical or allied health practitioner for any medical condition.

Please note that the views expressed in the podcast are those of the hosts and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of affiliated organizations.

Our goal is to empower you with knowledge, inspire curiosity, and promote a holistic approach to well-being. By participating in our podcast, you acknowledge and agree to these principles. Remember, your well-being is at the heart of our discussions, and we encourage you to make informed choices that align with your individual needs and circumstances.
